Monday, February 17, 2025 to Friday, February 21 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, Silpakorn University.
The Computational Science Summer School (CSSS) was first organized in 2015 by the Department of Mathematics, Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with network universities. It has since been held annually, rotating between host institutions, in partnership with the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Scientific Computing (IWR) at Heidelberg University, Germany. The aim is to foster academic and research collaboration among faculty and researchers from both domestic and international institutions, as well as to enhance graduate-level teaching and learning activities, providing students with the opportunity to present their work in English.
In 2025, the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, Silpakorn University, recognizing the benefits of building academic collaboration networks and the importance of enhancing mathematical capabilities across various disciplines for faculty, researchers, and graduate students, has partnered with the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Scientific Computing (IWR) at Heidelberg University, Germany, and the Center of Excellence in Data Science and Health Sciences at Walailak University. Additionally, collaboration with other network universities in Thailand, including Prince of Songkla University (Pattani Campus), Chulalongkorn University, King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, Mahidol University, and Chiang Mai University, has been established to organize the Computational Science Summer School 2025 on the topic of "Optimization and Modelling in Finance and Bioscience" from February 17-21, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM at the Faculty of Science, Silpakorn University, Sanam Chandra Palace Campus.
Participants will include faculty members, young researchers, and graduate students from Thailand and other Asian countries. They will develop computational skills to tackle problems in finance and biological sciences. Graduate students will also have the opportunity to present their work and receive feedback from experts in the field.
